PDS rice seized in Nizamabad

Nizamabad: District rural police nabbed PDS rice smuggler and seized 100 quintals of ration rice in Nagaram village on Monday morning.
During cordon and search operation in the village, they stopped a lorry and found out PDS rice inside the lorry. They apprehended PDS rice smuggler Bairam Rajesh and seized his DCM van and 100 quintals of PDS rice.
The police said that the accused was transporting the rice from Peddapllito Nanded.
The police said that a rice mill in Sultanabad is reportedly collects PDS rice and will smuggle it to Maharashtra. Police handed over the seized rice to Nizamabad Civil Supply Officers and registered a case.Investigation is on.
