Khammam/Mahabubabad: The leaders of Akhila Bharata Yadava Sangham (ABYS) sought the intervention MPs and MLAs in coal belt area for the restoration of conventional Singareni Passenger Train.

A delegation of the Sangham called on Mahabubabad MP-elect Maloth Kavitha, MLA B Shanker Naik and MLC Satyavathi Rathod on Monday and submitted a memorandum requesting them to intervene and see to it that the conventional Singareni Passenger Train was restored at the earliest.

The Sangham youth wing district general secretary Janga Shyamchander informed the elected members that the South Central Railway (SCR) officials have introduced the push-pull train in the place of Singareni passenger train a few months back because of which the passengers were put to several hardships due to insufficient number of lavatories and seats.

Singareni train, which was being run for over 45 years and the main link for entire coal belt area and Balharshah in Maharashtra, must be restored, he said.

Responding to the request, Kavitha promised that she would speak to the SCR General Manager and if he failed to respond, she would take the matter to the notice of Union Railway Minister urging him to resolve the issue.

Sangham office bearers M Vijaya Bhasker, G Dattu, A Sharath, K Anudeep and others were present.
