Political parties vying for four ZP seats brace for polls in Karimangar
With the starting of nomination process on Monday for Zilla Parishad elections, three major political parties TRS, BJP and Congress are drawing up plans to win maximum seats in the ensuing ZPTC and MPTC polls in the united Karimnagar district.

As the Parishad elections are going to be held on the party symbol unlike Gram Panchayat polls, the ruling TRS party is determined to continue its winning streak where as the BJP and Congress parties are ready to grab the opportunity of palpable anti-incumbency wave.
The TRS is in search of rich and experienced candidates for grabbing all the four ZP's--Karimnagar, Siricilla, Jagitial and Peddapalli. The pink party in full josh and is confident of winning all the four ZP and MP seats.
It has also announced the candidature of former MLA Putta Madhu's name for Peddapalli ZP chairperson.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, after conducting a review meeting with the leaders of 13 Assembly segments in the united Karimnagar district, had handed over the responsibility of winning four Zilla Parishads to two ministers Etala Rajendar and Koppula Eshwar and MLA's of the respective constituencies.
The candidate who has blessings of Health Minister Etala Rajendar will be nominated for the Karimnagar ZP seat where as the TRS party working president K T Rama Rao will decide the candidature for Rajanna Siricilla ZP seat. Meanwhile, Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar's blessings to the candidate will give him a chance to get nominated for the Jagitiala ZP seat.
On the other hand, smarting under the shock of the drubbing in both Assembly and Panchayat elections and wholesale defection of legislators, the Congress party is trying to regain its lost ground in the district through good performance in the upcoming Zilla Parishad elections. For its relief it has won Graduates MLC elections and wants to continue the same spirit in the Parishad elections, too.
The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), working president and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar had took the responsibility of winning the Karimnagar and Rajanna Siricilla ZP seats and is conducting mandal wise meetings in search of winning horses.
The party is also demanding written undertaking from the candidates that they would not desert the party after winning the election.
MLC and former Minister T Jeevan Reddy had taken the responsibility of winning of Jagitiala ZP seat whereas former Minister and Manthini MLA D Sridhar Babu along with Congress party senior leaders Makkan Singh and former MLA Vijaya Ramana Rao took the responsibility of winning Peddapalli ZP seat and both are in search of suitable candidates.
Meanwhile, the BJP which gave tough fight in the recently held Assembly and Panchayat elections to the ruling TRS party and Congress is gearing up to win major ZPTC's and MPTC's. BJP State official spokesperson Bandi Sanjay Kumar along with other key leaders is conducting mandal wise meeting to select the candidates who can protect the Hindu culture and tradition.
