Party Foundation Day tomorrow to be low-key affair

Hyderabad: Even after thumping victory in the recently held Assembly elections, there will be no grand celebration of formation day of ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti this time on April 27.

The party leadership has decided to keep this year's celebrations simple stating that there was election code in the state.

However, surrounded with several controversies, like statue of Ambedkar thrown into garbage and death of Intermediate students because of the BIE's fiasco, the party has decided to make this year's celebrations simple.

There have been several controversies where the party had to face the ire of the people recently and organising meetings at this juncture would give a wrong message to the people hence the party may have taken the decision to make a low-key affair, said a senior TRS leader.

TRS organises plenary and also a public meeting as part of the celebrations of its formation day on April 27.

During the last year, the party organised plenary in the city outskirts and later a massive public meeting was organised at Kongarakalan village in the outskirts of the city.

During the previous plenary, the party resolved to allow KCR to concentrate on national politics through his Federal Front, a coalition non-Congress and non-BJP parties.

This year was significant as the party chief K Chandrashekar Rao had appointed K T Rama Rao as the working president of the party right after the Assembly elections.

According to sources, the ZPTC and MPTC elections in the state was also one of the reasons for making the meeting the TRS formation day a low-key affair.

The TRS working president K T Rama Rao said that since there was election code in the state and hence it was decided to make the celebrations simple.

The party leaders and cadre have been asked to hoist the party flag in their native places to mark the formation day of the party on April 27.

The important leaders including functionaries, MLAs, MLCs and MPs have also been asked to take part in flag hoisting programme. There would be flag hoisting programmes right from village to district level.
