Rachanna Jatatra kicks off on a grand note

Zaheerabad: Rachanna Swamy Jatatra began on a grand note with 'Dwajarohanam Shikara Puja' at Bedampet in Kohir mandal on Monday. Kumkumarchana for Goddess and Rudrabhishekam for deity were conducted. Devotees turned out in large numbers and offered special prayers. Cultural programmes were conducted on the occasion.

Temple priests performed special poojas at Ayya Gavi, where the deity is said to have taken up 'Tapasya'. Annadanam was conducted on the temple premises. Temple chairman Kanakaratnam, EO Shivarudrappa, temple priests and others were present.
