Rangareddy district admin gears up to combat Corona

Rangareddy: The district administration has taken extensive measures to prevent the spread of corona virus. Measures are being taken to prevent the spread and create awareness among the public about how the virus is spreading. Recently a meeting was held under the auspices of Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and District Collector Amoy Kumar with municipal chairmen, commissioners and top officials of various departments to take early measures to prevent Corona.

As a follow-up measure, almost all meetings and gatherings of public, including Prajavani which is held every Monday, have been cancelled.

One of the largest districts in the state, Rangareddy has a large number of multinational and software companies, including Shamshabad international airport. A large number of employees of these companies work overseas and travel to various countries. The medical and health department officials in Shamshabad are taking up extensive steps to conduct a full range of medical examinations of foreigners and expatriates. Isolation wards have also been set up temporarily at the Gachibowli stadium in the district.

Under the aegis of the medical and health department, a large number of preventive measures for the detection and prevention of corona virus have been ensured at all the health centers. Special training programmes have been arranged for doctors and paramedical staff on Coronavirus, alerting all government and private hospitals. Whoever is diagnosed with cough and fever is being tested. The department has decided not to give doctors leave and asked that they be available to people in these difficult times.

At the behest of the government, 1403 government schools and 1399 state high schools in the district (a total of 2,802) have been closed. The district education department is conducting special check-ups and conducting large scale checks so that no school is violating the orders. All welfare hostels in Rangareddy district have been closed. All the children were sent home except Class X and inter students who are appearing for examinations. After the hostels are vacated by the students, all rooms are being cleaned up. Class 10 and inter students staying in the hostels are advised to use special masks, soaps, hand gloves, and maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness of the surroundings.
