Secunderabad: With Covid cases on the surge and the authorities announcing unlock, the citizens of twin cities are in a grip of fear and are taking extra precautions to arrest the further spread of coronavirus. The residents of Vasavi Nagar, SCB have decided to barricade their colony to prevent outsiders and unwanted vehicles from outside. The residents have submitted a written representation to the Karkhana Police station seeking permission to put up barricades.

"As lockdown restrictions being lifted slowly despite the cases are in the rise in cases. Around 2000 people reside over here and a majority of them are senior citizens. So, as a precautionary measure to protect the residents we have decided to barricade our colony to limit the entry of outsiders from all four entrances of the colony. Barricades would be erected near Canara Bank, Chola Residency, Bank of India and Punjab National Bank in Vasavi Nagar," said T Satish Kumar, president of Vasavi Nagar Welfare Association, ward 5.

In this regard, our colony roads would remain closed from next week onwards, added Satish.
