Right-wing outfits complain against Akbaruddin Owaisi
Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and few other right-wing organisations on Friday approached the Telangana police demanding action against AIMIM Floor Leader Akbaruddin Owaisi.
Hyderabad: Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and few other right-wing organisations on Friday approached the Telangana police demanding action against AIMIM Floor Leader Akbaruddin Owaisi.
The right-wing organisations alleged that Akbaruddin's speech was dangerous to peace in society and could instigate one community against other. Responding to allegations, Akbaruddin said he did not hurt the feelings of any community.
Some persons, for their political gain were adding words and creating a different meaning as per their own desire and imagination, approaching the police and misleading them.
Complainants were lodged at Sultan Bazar, Saidabad, L B Nagar police stations and reportedly a complaint has been lodged with Karimnagar Commissioner of Police V B Kamalasan Reddy, claiming that Owaisi's comments were objectionable and provocative against Hindus.
Akbaruddin was arrested and released on bail for making a hate speech at a public meeting in Adilabad district in 2012. The complainants alleged that inflammatory statements were made by Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi during his public meeting in Karimnagar on Tuesday.
In this meeting he said, "the RSS people were yet to recover from his 15-minute speech which he had delivered in 2012 at Adilabad." In his controversial speech made in December 2012, Akbaruddin Owaisi had said that if police were removed for 15-minutes, we (Muslims) would be enough to balance the Hindu-Muslim ration.
Complainants also alleged that Akbaruddin, to instigate the Muslim community against the Hindu community, again made the same statements which are very dangerous to the peace and tranquillity of the society.
He became a serial offender abusing the Hindu society and to satisfy his political motives by creating chaos in the society. Such person is not fit to be in the society, he should be kept away from the society immediately, they alleged.
Karunasagar Kashimshetty, an advocate and a right wing's organisation president, wrote to the Director General of Police requesting him to take necessary actions to cancel bail of Akbaruddin Owaisi for violating the conditions of bail imposed by the 1st Additional Sessions Judge, Adilabad, as his action and words are prejudicial to the communal harmony, and are promoting enmity between the religions.
K Subbarami Reddy, Inspector, Sultan Bazar police station said that they would seek legal opinion on the complaint before proceeding further.
Akbaruddin clarifies:
However, Akbaruddin condemned the criticism over his speech and said some people were deliberately misleading the police for their political gains. "My speech does not constitute any offence; I have not contravened any provision of law," he said.
