Hyderabad: Telangana BJP has demanded the Andhra Pradesh State government to immediately roll back its proposed sale of temple assets of Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala.

Making this demand here on Sunday, TS BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar warned the State government and the TTD board. "Both will have to face the wrath of the Hindu society and the BJP would launch an agitation supporting the Hindu organisations and devotees to safeguard the temple assets of the Lord of Seven Hills," Bandi said.

The BJP MP said that there has been no safety and security to the "deities and temples assets under the YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh."

Alleging Hindus are being mistreated, he said, "While the AP CM is trying to make AP into a Christian State, the Telangana CM is trying to convert his state into a Muslim state."

Further, if the anti-Hindu political forces continue their activities then they will be taught a lesson and "We will launch an agitation to safeguard the faith and properties of temples," he said.

Sanjay Kumar asked the AP state government whether it is trying to sell the temple properties to fund construction of churches and pay salaries to the pastors in that State? He added that lands given to the government by the philanthropic persons are being sold.

It would be wise for the AP government to desist from selling the gifts given by devotees to the temples. Asking not to play with the religious feelings of Hindus, he asked, "Why the AP government is not bothered about the properties of the churches and the Waqf and is trying to take away the temple lands?"

The BJP leader reminded that earlier the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had misused the temple properties while it was in power and met its destined fate. The YSRCP will also meet the same fate if it follows the TDP's way, he said.
