A blood donation camp was organised at Railway Protection Force (RPF) office in Khammam on Tuesday for the benefit of children suffering from Thalassemia disease.

Khammam: A blood donation camp was organised at Railway Protection Force (RPF) office in Khammam on Tuesday for the benefit of children suffering from Thalassemia disease. The camp was organised as a part of 35th RPF Raising Day Celebrations, RPF Inspector K Madhusudan said. District Collector RV Karnan launched the camp and presented fruits to the donors.

Around 60 volunteers, including RPF/GRP officers and staff, railway employees, parcel and licenced porters, auto and taxi drivers, students and faculty of SR&BGNR Government College, Childline-1098 team members donated blood under the aegis of Sankalpa Voluntary Organisation.

Speaking on the occasion, Collector appreciated the gesture by the RPF in conducting blood donation camp for children suffering from Thalassemia disease. Blood donation was one of the best charitable acts and everyone should try to donate blood often, he said. RPF SIs M Venkata Reddy, B Janardhan and Rammohan ASI, SV Basha were present.
