While all the opposition parties are expressing solidarity to the RTC strike, Loksatta chief Jaya Prakash Narayan said that the employees demand of RTC merger with the government is not right.

Opposing the RTC merger with the government in Andhra Pradesh, Jaya Prakash said that the strike does not make any sense in Telangana. "RTC employees should work for the public, instead of calling for a strike, they would have staged a protest with black badges," he added.

He said that it is not correct to merge RTC with the government and asked the government to enhance competitiveness and make concessions for the survival of RTC.

On the other hand, the Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan supported the RTC employees and asked the Telangana government to hold talks with employees before the strike gets intensified. He also said that the government's decision of sacking 48,000 employees is not correct.
