Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and MLA Sabitha Indra Reddy is all set to join the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). She accompanied by her son Karthik Reddy called on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at Pragati Bhavan in Hyderabad on Wednesday. It is learnt that K Chandrashekar Rao offered party ticket to Sabitha's son in lieu of her joining the TRS.
Source said that the TRS supremo also accepted the demand to induct her in his cabinet after the Lok Sabha elections. Karthik is keen to contest from Chevella Lok Sabha segment in the ensuing elections. Sabitha is holding sway in Maheshwaram, Chevella and Rajendrangar assembly segments.
After the sitting TRS MP Konda Visweshwar Reddy joined the Congress, K Chandrashekar Rao is scouting for a strong alternative to retain the seat. Sabitha and her family were the first choice in view of her strong political presence in the Lok Sabha segment.
