Ameenpur: Officials of the Revenue and Survey department on Wednesday undertook a survey in Madhavapuri Hills Colony following the orders of the Telangana High Court to constitute a special commission to investigate into the controversy created by the construction of Venkateswara temple in a park at Madhavapuri Hills in Ameenpur in Sangareddy district.

There was heavy deployment of police to avert any untoward incident.

The officials surveyed the temple construction and sites of seven parks in the colony in the presence of several top officials of Sangareddy district, including Collector M Hanumanth Rao, RDO Nagesh, Patancheru DSP Rajeswar rao, and court-appointed Special Commissioner advocate Praveen Reddy.

The controversy arose amid allegations that the temple construction was unauthorised and a petition filed in the court demanding its demolition.

Special Commissioner Reddy and the officials inspected the revenue department's layout on the temple site, besides the seven parks in the colony, with stress on whether the construction is being done in park land.

They looked into the contention whether building of the temple was taking place in the site set apart for parks when the venture was launched.

The officials present included Revenue and Survey department staff. Rao tried to identify the temple border with the assistance of the Revenue and Survey staff and looked into the temple construction, besides the vacant site, with a view to determine their borders.
