Schools must take safety measures: Police Commissioner VB Kamalasan Reddy

Karimnagar: As per the orders issued by the Supreme Court, the managements of all schools must take necessary safety measures in the school for providing safety to the students studying in their schools, ordered Police Commissioner VB Kamalasan Reddy.

He held a meeting with the managements of schools at Police Commissionerate in Karimnagar on Tuesday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Police Commissioner said unexpected accidents may occur which may result in loss of lives and damage to the school image, if there are no safety measures in the schools. The managements of the schools must follow the orders issued by the Supreme Court for the safety of students. They must install high quality CCTV cameras which can record both inside and outside the school and every inch of the school premises, he suggested.

Before closing the classrooms and school building, the school staff must check every nook and corner of the classrooms and school building and then they must lock the building, he added. Kamalasan Reddy advised the school managements to keep a look on students and staff members, who are coming early and leaving the schools in late hours and do not give any scope for any incident to take place in the school premises. The schools in Karimnagar should become an example for other districts. By July 31, all schools must install CCTV cameras and must follow the orders issued by the Supreme Court without fail, the he CP ordered.

Action will be taken against such schools, which do not follow the orders, he warned and expressed anger on the management of Sarvodaya School, which did not install CCTV cameras and ordered the One Town Inspector to issue notice to the school management immediately.

Additional DCP (Law & Order) S Srinivas, SBI Mahesh Goud, Inspectors T Srinivas Rao, Deva Reddy, Vijay Kumar, Damodar Reddy, Reserve Inspectors Mallesham and Johny Miya were present along with others.
