Mahbubnagar: After a call given by the Telangana Union Working Journalists, the journalists from Mahbubnagar took out a rally from the Collectorate building and later, gave a representation to Srinivas, Revenue Development officer (RDO) of Mahbubnagar district on Friday.

The district journalist union leaders Dandu Dattender, I Sekhar, N Venkateshwara Rao, while speaking to the media, said that the State government had completely failed in fulfilling the promises it made to journalists during the elections and has been ignoring them for the last six years.

They demanded the State government to immediately allocate double bedroom houses, give accreditation cards and health cards to all eligible journalists in the district. They stressed that the State government must do away with the recent GO No 239, which is against the interest of journalists in the rural areas. They also demanded the State government to fulfil all the promises it made to people during the Assembly elections.

Journalists Union vice-president Ramjinelilu, Venkateshwar Rao, Venkatesh, Amruth, Raju, Surender, Shyam and others took part in the protest rally.
