Secunderabad: Leaders of United Forum of Bank Unions warned the central government of going on indefinite strike from April 1 if their just demands were not resolved.

Speaking to the media at a two-day protest organized at State Bank of India zonal office here on Saturday, UBFU Telangana convener Sriram condemned the lack of response from central government on their demands, despite serving notice two years ago. The government had not even called for discussions, he lamented.

About 2,000 bank employees participated in the protest and raised slogans against the government. SBI Employees Association general secretary B Sukkaiah, deputy general secretary U Krishnamraju, president A Sai Prasad, Nagesh and others spoke to media on the occasion. They announced a three-day strike from March 11 to 13, apart from indefinite strike from April 1 if their demands were not met.
