Six Medigadda barrage gates lifted

- Six out of 85 gates were lifted at Medigadda barrage
Around six gates of Medigadda barrage were lifted on Thursday letting out 12,000 cusecs of water into Godavari river. The water level at Medigadda has increased as the pumping units at Kannepalli pump house have been closed.
There are around 85 gates at Medigadda barrage which will help in converting thousands of acres of land into arable. The barrage is also aimed to quench the thirst of the millions of people of Telangana state.
The barrage was inaugurated by the chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on June 21 in the presence of Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
