He participated in an event organised to distribute enhanced Aasara pensions at Padmanayak Function Hall present in Agriculture Market yard here in Rajanna Siricilla district.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, KTR said that after the formation of Telangana government, the pension amount was increased to 5 times more and now as per the promise made during elections, it was doubled this year. Telangana is the only State in the country which is giving pensions to beedi workers.

With 17 percent growth rate, Telangana is on top among all States. The income which was increased is invested in various welfare schemes. The reduced age limit from 65 years to 57 for the government employees will be applicable from June month onwards apart from that PF cut-off for beedi workers is done from 2014 to 2019 due to which more than 2 lakhs of people are going to receive pensions, he informed.

KT Rama Rao said that the State government is investing Rs12,000 crore for giving pensions to about 50 lakh needy people. With love towards poor people, CM KCR is investing this large amount of money for their sake. But the central government is giving only R 200 crore for the same purpose, he alleged.

He said that double bedroom houses that are completed will be distributed transparently without the involvement of political leaders through the lottery system. About 1,500 double bedroom houses which cost nearly Rs 20 lakh each in the present market rate are completed and are ready to be distributed on one fine day, he added.

The TRS working president said that because of the people of Sircilla, he got recognition at the State and national level and will never forget that and will strive hard to solve all their issues in return, he assured. Later, KTR distributed the pension certificates to the beneficiaries at the programme.

TESCOB Chairman Konduri Ravinder, District Collector Krishna Bhaskar, District Libraries department chairman Akunuri Shankaraiah, Farmers Coordination Committee coordinator Gaddam Narasaiah and SES chairman Dornala Laxma Reddy were present at the event.
