Hyderabad: TRS member Manchireddy Kishan Reddy demanded the government to stop breath analyser tests by the police department for a month in the wake of coronavirus threat.

The issue came up during the Zero Hour in the Assembly on Thursday when TRS member Manchireddy Kishan Reddy wanted the government to suspend breath analyser test in the wake of the coronavirus.

He said that the police personnel were using the same straw for four to five persons, which is causing inconvenience to the motorists. He wanted the government to direct the police to stop the 'drunken driving' tests for a month or till summer.

Another TRS member raised an interesting issue of change of name of a village in his constituency. The member, Challa Dharama Reddy, said that a village in his constituency is named as Dongala Singaram, which was changed to Pragati Singaram.

But the gazette still shows Dongala Singaram as the name of the village. The people of the constituency are seeing it as an insult, he said adding that he raised this issue twice in the Assembly, but no action was taken by the government.

A MIM member Moazam Khan demanded the government to declare a holiday on Mahavir Jayanthi on April 6.

He said that Mahavir Jayanthi is celebrated by minority Jain community and presently it is under optional holiday list of the State government.
