Jagtial: After submitting a representation to Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy at Secretariat in Hyderabad on Friday, urging him to supply required quantities of urea to the farming sector of Jagtial constituency, MLA Dr Sanjay Kumar said the farmers of five mandals in the ayacut of Sri Ram Sagar Project (SRSP) in Jagtial constituency took up cultivation in large scale due to high rainfall in this monsoon.
The urea supplied by the government on subsidy had not reached the district till date and require fertilisers in large quantities compared to previous seasons, he said.
Niranjan Reddy urged the Minister to supply 850 metric tonnes of urea, which has to be supplied to the district through Kribco Company along with 1,000 metric tonnes, 500 each from Peddapalli and Karimnagar district where the requirement is less.
Responding positively to the MLA's request, Agriculture MinisterNiranjan Reddy assured him of looking into the matter and will supply the required quantities of urea to the farmers of Jagtial district.
