The members of the Deepthi Mahila Samithi celebrated the colourful festival of Teej with fervour and gaiety in Ramagundam of Peddapalli district on Thursday.

Ramagundam: The members of the Deepthi Mahila Samithi celebrated the colourful festival of Teej with fervour and gaiety in Ramagundam of Peddapalli district on Thursday.

The Samithi members looked vibrant in their traditional outfits and participated actively in the various cultural programmes like songs and dance competitions to mark the celebrations. Deepthi Mahila Samithi in-charge president Sofie Mathew Verghese inaugurated the programme and spoke about the significance of the Teej festival.

A Teej Queen competition was held on the occasion in which the women participated actively. Neha Verma won the competition and Swetha Gaekwad and Ezilarus Ravindran adjudged as first and second runners-up respectively. Later, Sofie Mathew Verghese presented the Teej Queen Crown to Neha Verma and handed over prizes to the winners of different categories.

During this occasion, Mamta Laad, I/c Balbhavan, Aliva Das, I/c Deepthi Kids Corner, Padmasree, Secretary and other office bearers and members of Deepthi Mahila Samithi were present in large numbers.
