Telangana: Adilabad records lowest temperature of 6.8°C

Arli (T) of Bheempur mandal and Ginnedhari of Tiryani mandal of Adilabad district have recorded the minimum temperature of 6.8 degree Celisus on Sunday which is said to be the lowest temperature recorded in the villages in the past 10 years. Last year, the district recorded lowest temperature in Telangana with 6.5 degree Celsius on December 28 and 29.

According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), parts of erstwhile Adilabad district recorded temperature below 7 degree Celsius on Sunday. Sirpur (U) of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district recorded 7.1 degrees Celsius followed by Bela (7.2 degree Celsius) and Thamsi (7.3 degree Celsius). Also, the minimum temperature in the places like Jainad, Adilabad Urban, Talamadugu in Adilabad, Kerameri, Wankidi and Tiryani mandal of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district hovered between 8.4 degrees and 9.7 degrees Celsius.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature across the state will drop further in the next two days. Also, due to the northeasterly winds, the temperature during the nights are likely to plummet until Wednesday.

Bonfires are being lit up during nights by the rural folks to keep themselves warm from freezing cold.
