Hyderabad: State government on Saturday solved the long pending demand of the doctors including MBBS, PG Degree, PG Diploma and others by enhancing stipend by 15 per cent. Health Minister T Harish Rao shared this news on his twitter account on Saturday. The doctors have been demanding the government to increase their stipend in the wake of financial burden on them.
They had also served strike notice stating that if the government did not agree to their demand. The Health Minister had assured to solve the issue by the end of May. “Good news to medical students! Under the directions of CM KCR garu, Telangana government issued orders enhance stipend at 15 per cent with effect from January 1, 2023 to MBBS/BDS (House Surgeons), PG Degree, PG Diploma, MDS, and Super specialty courses and honorarium to senior residents,” said Harish Rao on twitter.
Meanwhile, the junior doctors have thanked the health minister for solving their long pending demand. “This increase in stipend will aid in reducing the financial burden on junior doctors and their families, and we hope it will motivate more young doctors to pursue a career in medicine.
We trust that this raise in stipend will improve the morale of junior doctors and enhance the quality of care provided by them across the state,” said Telangana Junior Doctors Association President Dr Kaushik Kumar Pinjarala.
The JUDA representatives also thanked the government for their cooperation and support throughout their negotiations. “Their commitment to the welfare of junior doctors and the healthcare system in Telangana has been unwavering, and we are grateful for their efforts.
We also appreciate their consideration of our representation and immediate action, which has led to a successful implementation and processing of the file in a short span of time,” said Dr Kaushik.
