PM’s call is for wellbeing of society: Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan

Hyderabad: 'Janata Curfew' does not mean that the government would impose restrictions on the movement of people. It is a call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to have a self-imposed one-day home quarantine by all between 7 am and 9 pm on Sunday.

Official circles on Friday said that the call for Janata Curfew seems to have led to misunderstanding among a large number of people that it would be like the curfew that the government imposes in case of some disturbance in the city.

The state government made it clear that there would be no restrictions on the movement of people and services like RTC and other modes of transport would continue to be operated.

Being Sunday, the number of buses may be less as compared to normal working days. As far as business establishments are concerned, no instructions to close them have been issued.

It is up to them to keep their business houses open or closed, sources said.

Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan appealed to the people to make the PM's call for the wellbeing of society and keep the virus away from the state by following PM's advice.

Since it is a public holiday on Sunday, she felt that it would be better if the people stay indoors and avoid going out to places of entertainment with family.

People should consider the PM's message as a social responsibility and follow it, she said.
