Telangana Jana Samithi to take up cudgels for tribal farmers tilling podu lands in Bhadrachalam

Bhadrachalam: The Telangana Jana Samithi is all set to organise a public meeting on June 11 at Eturunagaram for protection of rights of tribal farmers tilling podu lands.

Addressing the media in Bhadrachalam on Friday along with tribal leaders, TJS district president M Ramanadham stated that despite the party conducting many protest programmes regarding the podu lands issue, the State government did not give a single patta to the tribal farmers.

He said most of the tribal farmers were facing many problems due to lack of pattas and they are unable to claim the benefits of government schemes like Rythu Bima and Rythu Bandhu as they lack the ownership rights over the lands they cultivate.

To highlight the plight of tribal farmers, the TJS was all set to conduct a public meeting at Eturunagaram village on June 11, he informed, adding that TJS party founder and State convenor Professor Kodandaram, tribal MLAs Sitakka and Podem Veeraiah and former MP Vivek would attend the meeting.

He appealed to the podu land farmers and tribal people to attend the public meeting in large numbers and make it a grand success. During the meeting, Ramanadham and other tribal leaders released wall posters for the public meeting.

Party district secretary P Biksham, Adivasi Joint Action Committee Chairman CH Rammurthy, Human Rights Vedika district president D Adinarayana and other TJS leaders attended the meeting.
