Telangana logs over 1,000 cases for the first time in a single day
Private labs given 48-hour time to rectify lapses failing which operations will be closed, it was stated in health bulletin
Hyderabad: Telangana has reported more than 1,000 Covid cases for the first time in a single day on Saturday. With 1,087 fresh cases, the total Covid tally rose to 13, 436. Also, six deaths were reported taking the total count so far to 243.
GHMC region has reported the highest cases (888) among the fresh cases. Ranga Reddy (74), Medchal (37) and Nalgonda (35) followed GHMC in the most number of cases.
These 1,087 positive cases were identified from 3,923 samples. The active cases stood at 8,265 and discharge count at 4,928 after 162 people were cured and sent from hospital.
Meanwhile, private labs have been given 48-hour time to rectify lapses failing which they have to shutdown their operations. The health department said that SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) were not followed while testing in these hospitals.
