Hyderabad: Telangana reported a massive jump in positive cases with nearly 500 cases being reported in last 24 hours. Almost one in five samples tested positive. However, the big relief is less number of deaths (three) on Friday.

GHMC reported a high 329 of the new cases while Ranga Reddy district 129 cases. Jangaon with 7 cases, Mahabubnagar 6 cases were followed by five districts-Nizamabad, Medchal, Mancherial, Warangal Urban, Nalgonda reported four cases each.

While the death toll is almost nearing 200, in this 100 patients between 51 to 70 years of age died while another 42 who died were in age group of 41 to 50 years age group.

Government has stated that only 976 beds have been occupied so far while 34 hospitals have been identified for Covid treatment.

Meanwhile, the Health department has given a public notice of the Covid-19 test charges (Rs 2,200 if tested in hospital, Rs 2,800 if sample collected home) to be collected in private labs and hospitals. It also asked public to call on 104 to register complaints or grievances on this issue.
