The state recorded a 35 per cent deficit of rain due to the delay of monsoon across Telangana.

As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), districts like Hyderabad, Jagtial, Jangaon and Karimnagar received deficit rainfall in June.

Unlike the other districts, Hyderabad was the only one to receive two digit rainfall (11%). The city has received 116.9 mm of rains against 105.6 mm of cumulative rain. Meanwhile, the highest rainfall deficit was recorded in Khammam (-73%). It has received only 35.2 mm rainfall against 130.5 mm cumulative rainfall.

However, the weathermen predicted moderate to heavy rainfall over the next few days. The IMD issued a heavy rainfall warning till July 3 due to the formation of a low-pressure area over the northeast Bay of Bengal.

The low-pressure area will be turning into a depression in the next 24 hours ensuing heavy rainfall.
