Opposing 100 per cent FDI in coal mining, workers of Singareni Collieries Company called on for a strike on September 24. National trade unions AITUC, INTUC, CITU and HMS announced its decision.
The Singareni collieries are supporting the strike announced by the four national trade unions, announced the Singareni Collieries Employees Union speaking at a press conference in Mancherial.
The Union president B Venkat Rao and chief secretary Raji Reddy told the media that their intention is to bring the issue to the notice of the government. Due to the one-day strike, around Rs 70 crore loss is estimated to the government.
