Nagarkurnool: In a road accident in Tadur village of Uppununtala mandal under Achampet constituency of Nagarkurnool district, an auto-rickshaw overturned causing grievous injuries to three passengers. Remaining four passengers escaped unhurt.

According to eyewitnesses, the auto-rickshaw was overloaded with seven passengers and was moving at a high speed. The auto driver while taking a turn at Tadur crossroad lost control over the wheel which led to overturning of the vehicle. Three of the seven passengers suffered severe head injuries and were immediately rushed to Hyderabad for treatment.

The Uppununtala police registered a case against the auto-driver for carrying passengers more than allowed limit. "We have been repeatedly telling the auto drivers not to allow more passengers. The small autos must have only four persons, while the big autos can ferry five passengers. But they are loading more than 8-10 passengers. Because of which, the auto drivers are losing control and causing accidents. From now onwards, we will act strict against the such auto drivers and book cases against them for violating traffic rules," said Uppununtala police.
