Traffic restrictions near Nagarjuna Sagar project

Traffic restrictions were imposed on the National Highway near Nagarjunasagar project as tourists turned up in large numbers on Sunday to have a feast of the visual delight of the gushing water.

SP Ranganath said that the traffic passing through the highway is diverted through Peddapur, Halia and Miryalaguda. He also asked the people to postpone their journey today if needs to be travelled through the Nagarjuna Sagar project.

All the gates of the project have been opened due to the huge inflows. On Thursday, the project witnessed nine-lakh cusec mark with the water level touching 587 ft as against the total level 590 feet.
