TS files counter against Polavaram project

Hyderabad : State government on Tuesday filed a counter affidavit in the Supreme Court seeking to stop the construction of Polavaram.

The government requested the court to review the environmental clearances accorded to the project and stop the works until fresh clearances are given.

The TS government impleaded in the petition filed against Polavaram by the Telangana Congress senior leader P Sudhakar Reddy in the apex court.

The government argued that the environmental clearances were given based on the designs finalised in 2005.
