Hyderabad: The official committee of the TSRTC Executive Directors (EDs), formed by the State Government on Tuesday night, has taken up the task of examining the demands of the RTC workers mainly the financial implications their demands.

The Committee is likely to submit its report to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in a day or two.

According to sources, the six-member committee consisting of executive directors discussed at length about the demands put forward by the Joint Action Committee of workers.

Sources said that the EDs would be giving a detailed report categorising the demands of the workers in two or three sections which include decisions with financial implications, decisions which can be resolved at the management level and also policy decisions like appointment of workers among other administrative decisions.

The JAC has given a charter of 26 demands to the management, which included the merger of RTC. Since the Chief Minister has said the workers themselves withdrew their merger demand, the committee will not touch this demand.

The other demands like providing job security to drivers and conductors and decreasing the work load on the workers, giving relief to the women conductors by giving them duties till 9 pm only, providing tools and required spare parts as per the requirement, rest rooms for women employees in all depots in the state etc. These demands can be resolved at the management level.

There are some policy decisions like running the buses as per interstate agreement, increasing the staff in Tarnaka hospitals and providing childcare leave to the women employees of the corporation, providing permission to the Corporation to run parcel and goods transportation, regularising the contract, casual workers and also engineering staff, providing salary for the period of 'Sakalajanula Samme' to the retired employees and others.

Sources said that the committee would meet again on Thursday and would be submitting report to the Chief Minister after deliberations.
