Turn Nizamia General Hospital into referral centre: Asaduddin Owaisi
The Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday requested the Health Minister, Eatala Rajender to convert Charminar Unani (Nizamia General Hospital and Tibbi College) into first referral hospital for suspected Covid-19 patients, similar to facility at King Kothi
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday requested the Health Minister, Eatala Rajender to convert Charminar Unani (Nizamia General Hospital and Tibbi College) into first referral hospital for suspected Covid-19 patients, similar to facility at King Kothi.
Following his telephonic conversation with the Minister, he tweeted "Spoke to @TelanganaHealth earlier & requested that Charminar Unani hospital be made into the first referral hospital for suspected Covid-19 patients like the facility at King Koti.
It should be fully equipped with oxygen Air & vacuum suction. This will improve access for more people." It may be mentioned here that on March 30, it was officially designated as Level-1 hospital for Covid-19 and suspected cases were getting treatment.
However, it remained ill-equipped without upgraded facilities to help suspected cases with oxygen air or other medical equipment, prompting several staffers, including the Principal of Tibbi college infected with the virus. On Monday, Asaduddin's brother and AIMIM Floor Leader Akbaruddin Owaisi met the Health Minister. While expressing concern, he requested the Eatala Rajender to conduct 'extensive Covid-19 testing' in Hyderabad. He requested that at least 20,000 tests are conducted.
