Hyderabad: The sleuths of Task Force, North Zone team, Hyderabad nabbed two interstate fraudsters from Uttar Pradesh named Arjun Singh (35), Mohammed Kallu (34) who indulged in procuring and disposing fake gold coated coins and copper Mahavira idols (seems to be antique) by luring innocent people to gain easy money illegally.

Police also seized Rs 9 lakh, Lord Mahavir Jain idol, copper coins-380, gold coated coins-5 and two mobile phones.

According to Anjani Kumar, City Police Commissioner, accused persons claiming that they obtained gold coins and gold antique idol during cultivation of agriculture lands at native village in Uttar Pradesh (UP) State and wanted to sell them at cheaper price.

The gang targets prospective customers, initially showing pure gold coin as sample, they hand over original gold coin weighing about 10 grams coin and testing as genuine.

After that, accused strikes a deal with the customers and show huge quantity of fake gold coated brass coins as genuine gold coins.

After receiving amount, they deliver the fake gold coated coppers coins as genuine and disappear from the place with the amount.

Commissioner said, complainant Sriramdas Sanjeeva Chary, resident of Amberpet, lodged a complaint stating that two persons approached him, informed that they obtained gold coins and gold antique idol at their native village in UP and they made a deal of Rs 13.45 lakh on 28 August 2019. After payment, the complainant realised that he had been deceived and lodged a complainant.

Police on credible information nabbed the accused persons on Monday while they trying to dispose copper Mahavir Jain idol as Panchaloha and antique idol with prospective customer for Rs 40 lakh near Alpha hotel road, Monda Market.

The accused persons along with seized material handed over to Amberpet police station for further investigation.
