State Industry Minister KTR says Telangana will soon develop more airports to improve connectivity

Hyderabad: Addressing the aviation leaders and audience at the Wings India 2020 Global Aviation Summit in Hyderabad, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Hardeep Singh Puri said, "KT Rama Rao is not only an efficient and a dynamic Minister but he is also in many respects a representative of what the new India that we are working towards looks like."

The Union Minister also stated that they worked together on various flagship missions of the Central government and the Prime Minister in the urban space.

"I'm equally delighted and thanks to him and his colleagues in the government and his entire team. We have a very successful Wings 2020 conference, so I want to personally record my gratitude and appreciation for that," he added.

Hardeep Singh Puri and State Industry Minister KTR presented Swatchhta Awards under various categories to the Indian Airlines and airports at the Summit. The ministers also presented acknowledgment and appreciation certificates to the Partner States.

Minister KTR while speaking at the Summit said that the state of Telangana will soon develop more airports to improve connectivity. He stated that the move will ease travel to remote places and also provide affordable air commute.

Later, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Minister KTR also participated in Global CEOs Forum at the Wings India 2020 Global Aviation Summit today. Both the ministers also visited the aviation exhibition and watched the Air show at the Wings India Summit.

A tri-party MoU was exchanged under the Ministry of Civil Aviation Krishi Udaan Scheme by Ras-Al-International Airport, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd and SpiceJet Ltd. The government of Telangana entered into an MoU with DJI.

The partnership with DJI will focus primarily on drone pilot training. The company will also share its latest products and solutions information, the global knowledge and experience in policy and regulation, the global commercial drone application scenarios, and other UAV related information with the state.

DJI is a dominant market leader in the civilian unmanned aviation industry, accounting for over 70 percent of the world's drone market.

During the same event, the government of Telangana joined hands with Asia Pacific Flight Training Organisation and Marut Drones, a local Hyderabad-based drone startup.

The drone startup has developed a curriculum for drone-pilots which will be delivered to aspiring pilots by their trainers, leveraging training infrastructure available with the flight training organisation.
