Khammam: Upadyaya Sanghala Porata Committee (USPC) demanded the government to release a white paper on progress of education in the State.

The USPC demanded the white paper on issues relating to granted funds, facilities provided, new recruitments and others in the education department after the formation of Telangana State.

Leaders of USPC, who met at the local STF office in Khammam on Friday, alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was ignoring the problems of Education department and making deplorable comments against teachers, their unions and the officials of revenue department.

"The Chief Minister has been repeatedly saying that the State government was paying more salaries to government employees in our State when compared to other States in the country. But, he never speaks about salaries paid to MLAs and MLCs which are paid in lakhs," they criticised.

They alleged that only 30 Mandal Education Officers were working against 538 MEO posts in the State and the government was doing nothing to fill the remaining posts. They said teachers were providing quality education despite not having proper facilities.

USPC members Shoukath Ali, Saidulu, Nagireddy, Vijay, Naga Malleshwar and Hussain participated in the meeting.
