Hyderabad: Disappointed on not being allotted party ticket to contest in the Lok Sabha Elections, State government advisor G Vivekanand on Friday resigned from the post.

He is also likely to leave the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in one or two days. Vivek was expecting ticket from Peddapalli Lok Sabha Constituency from the party.

However, the TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao nominated another leader denying ticket to Vivek. The local leaders and MLAs were against his candidature alleging that he had worked against the party candidates on recently held Assembly elections, which prompted the TRS president to deny the ticket.

Interestingly, Vivek had resigned from TRS and joined Congress just before the 2014 elections and the TRS fielded student leader B Suman, who went on to defeat Vivek. After the election, Vivek joined TRS again and was given the post of government advisor.

Sources said that Vivek was looking towards Congress party again. He is in touch with the BJP leaders too, but his followers believe that he may be joining Congress.
