Kothagudem: Much debate has taken place among political circles and netizens after the images and videos of ballot papers of Monday's ZPTC and MPTC election were shared on social media sites.

According to sources, some voters at Burgampahad in the district have taken the pictures and shot videos while casting their votes. The pictures and videos were then shared on WhatsApp leading to debate.

The leaders of different political, including the ruling and opposition parties, have taken the matter seriously and accused each other of committing rigging. They demanded re-polling.

When contacted Joint Collector K Venkateshwarlu, he told local reporters that he had ordered an inquiry into the incident and denied the rumours that ballot papers were brought outside the polling booths.

Burgampahad MPDO Subramanyam has lodged a complaint with local police regarding the incident. SI Venkatappaiah said they have booked a case based on the complaint by the MPDO and launched the probe. The guilty would be punished as per the legal provisions, the SI said.
