Amid lockdown and scorching summer, a war of words between the ruling party and Opposition leaders has flared up in erstwhile Nalgonda district on GO 203 issued by the AP government for expansion of Pothireddypadu and pending projects in the district for years together.

Leaders of opposition parties including Congress, BJP, CPM and social organisation Telangana Vidyavanthula Vedika stated that the AP government going ahead with the new irrigation projects on Krishna waters due to CM KCR's nelson's eye attitude towards CM Jagan and AP under hidden agenda and kickbacks.
TPCC chief UttamKumar Reddy and MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy alleged that CM KCR by joining hands with AP CM Jagan have been doing injustice to south Telangana.
They asserted that the lifeline project Nagarjuna Sagar will not get single drop of water if AP government goes ahead with Rayalaseema lift scheme and demanded the AP government to scrap GO 203 of Pothireddypadu project expansion.
Apart from GO 203, both MPs came down heavily on CM KCR for not paying attention and not sanctioning funds for the pending projects in the district which includes SLBC tunnel, Dindi, Nakkala Gandi, Udyasamudram lift irrigation schemes.
Referring to the statement made by KCR at Devarakonda during the Telangana agitation that he would sit at the project sites and complete the works of the pending projects to provide water to drought prone areas of Nalgonda, is yet to be materialized.
The Congress leaders stated that the State government bringing the new concept of linking Godavari and Krishna rivers for kick-backs and demanded the CM KCR to finish Gandamalla and Basvapur reservoirs under Kaleshwaram project on war footing to provide irrigation facility to the proposed ayacut in the district.
The duo called upon the party cadre to make success the protest programmes on pending irrigation projects sites on the State Formation Day June-2 to mount pressure on the government.
So also, leaders of other opposition parties Julakanti Rangareddy, Mudireddy Sudhakar Reddy of CPM, Kankanala Sridhar Redd, Goli Madhu Sudan Reddy of BJP and Telangana Vidyavantula Vedika Nalgonda district president Pandula Saidulu also made similar statements and demanded the state government to complete the pending irrigation projects in erstwhile Nalgonda district. They also demanded the AP government to withdraw GO 203 and described that taking up Rayalaseema lift irrigation scheme as against the natural justice.
Giving strong counter to allegations of leaders of opposition parties, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, Rythu Bandhu Committees state president Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, DCCB Chairman Gongidi Mahender Reddy, MLC Karne Prabhkar, MLA Nomula Narsimhaiah rubbished the charges of leaders of opposition parties by highlighting the support of Telangana Congress leaders to Pothireddypadu and Pulichintala projects during YSR tenure in united Andhra Pradesh at the detrimental of this region. They asserted that the Congress protest at project sites on the State Formation Day is a political stunt and struggle for existence.
TRs leaders asserted that the interest of the State is only one agenda of CM KCR and all the pending projects will be completed in near future to make Telangana a fertile State.
