Warangal: The city would soon have smart public toilets, Warangal Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil said. In a review meeting with the officials here on Wednesday, he said that they have plans to construct smart public toilets under public private partnership (PPP) mode. He said that they have entrusted the responsibility of constructing and running these toilets with the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI).

Stating that the toilets are to come up on roadside government land as part of Smart Cities Mission, the Collector said that the smart toilets are aimed for the convenience of people, who visit the city. He directed the officials concerned to give possession of land admeasuring 20X20 feet near NIT guest house, R&B SE office, Bhadrakali temple parking area and Hanamkonda bus station to the municipal authorities.

He told the officials to demolish the old public toilets that are defunct and dilapidated and construct new ones. Construction of a smart toilet is also on the anvil near the parking place of 1,000 Pillars temple, he said.

ASCI team leader P Rammohan Reddy, NIT registrar S Govardhan Rao, R&B EE L Rajam, KUDA planning officer E Ajith Reddy, district sports officer Dhanalaxmi and Bhadrakali temple chief priest B Seshu were among others present.
