Warangal: The reshuffle effected by the State government late on Sunday brings young blood into the administration of five of the six districts in the erstwhile Warangal. Prashanth Jeevan Patil, who has been transferred to Nalgonda district, leaves an indelible mark in the administration. It's no exaggeration to say that during his stint in Warangal, none of the opposition leaders in the district had ever pointed finger at him.
"During the 2018 Assembly elections, we have faced problems with the lower level officials but never with Patil. Patil has always been affable and helpful to everyone irrespective of their political affiliations," a senior Congress leader told The Hans India.
Patil had worked as Joint Collector of undivided Warangal district for about two years. After the creation of new districts in 2016, he was made the Collector of Warangal Rural district. Later, he was transferred to Komaram Bheem-Asifabad District to set the things right in that region following clashes between Adivasis and Lambadas.
Later in August 2018, the government brought back Patil and made the Collector of Warangal Urban District replacing Amrapali Kata. During his stint in Warangal working for both Urban and Rural districts, Patil had earned good name for efficiently handling land acquisition for the second ROB at Fathima Nagar and Rail coach factory. Recently, Patil earned the distinction of putting Warangal Urban District on top of Telangana districts in the implementation of Palle Pragathi, the State government's flagship programme aimed at improving greenery, cleanliness and basic infrastructure in Gram Panchayats (GPs).
This apart, work on Bhadrakali Bund beautification is almost completed and MGM Hospital renovation work with an outlay of Rs 3 crore is in progress. Warangal urban district also made rapid strides in the implementation of ODF and land records updation programme (LRUP). During his stint as joint collector and Rural Collector, Patil had also worked for the land acquisition for the mega textile park.
Speaking to this newspaper, Patil said: "It was a pleasant stay in Warangal. I tried my best
to live up to the expectations of the people."
Meanwhile, Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu has taken charge as the Collector of the Warangal Urban District on Monday evening.
On the other hand, VP Gautham and Md Abdul Azeem to take charge as the Collectors of Mahabubabad and Jayashankar Bhupalpally respectively, replacing Ch Sivalingaiah and Vasam Venkateshwarlu.
S Krishna Aditya will take charge from RV Karnan, who is in full additional charge (FAC) of Mulugu district. Gautham had in the past worked as the Greater Warangal Municipal Commissioner and Mulugu Sub-Collector. Meanwhile, K Nikhila took charge as the Jangaon Collector on Monday, following the transfer of T Vinay Krishna Reddy to Suryapet district.
