The shop owners voluntarily closed the shops expressing solidarity to RTC strike. Meanwhile, all the bus stands wore a deserted look with no buses coming out from the depot.
The JAC and all party leaders called for the strike after the death of the RTC driver Srinivas Reddy who succumbed to severe burn injuries at Apollo DRDO hospital in Hyderabad. Reddy poured petrol on his own and set himself on fire after getting depressed of losing his job.
Paying tributes to the driver, the all-party leaders urged the RTC workers not to take any extreme step.
