Police Commissioner Karthikeya unveiling She Team pamphlets Striker pamphlets at his office in Nizamabad on Tuesday
Nizamabad: "Women's protection is our number one priority. They should inform the police immediately if anyone sexually harasses them," said Nizamabad Police Commissioner Karthikeya.
He unveiled She Team Striker pamphlets at his office here on Tuesday. The Commissioner urged women and girls to contact the cops by dialling the police control room number 100 immediately in case of harassment in college, workplace, bus stand and anywhere. She Team has made it easier for victims to access information.
He said the district police has a Facebook account 'sheteam.nizamabad'; Twitter account 'cp_nizamabad'. Women also can email their complaints to 'sheteamwomennzb@gmail.com'. Victims can send messages to WhatsApp number 9490618029.
She Team awareness programme is underway in Nizamabad, Armoor and Banswada divisional, said the Police Commissioner. Informing the people that it is a crime to take law into their hands, he said the police can apprehend the culprits if they were informed of the crime immediately. She Team Pamphlets will be distributed at mandal headquarters and gram panchayats.
DCP M Sridhar Reddy, Traffic ACP Prabhakar Rao, CIs Madhusudhan, Naresh, Anjaneyulu and others were present at the programme.
