Accept petitions with smile at Spandana, officials told Collector
Chittoor: District Collector Narayana Bharath Gupta has instructed the district officials to organise 'Spandana,' a weekly grievance programme, in their respective offices from next Monday onwards.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had renamed weekly grievance cell as Spandana. The Collector stated participation of all the departments in 'Spandana' will ensure effective, speedy and transparency in governance.
Reviewing the progress of various welfare schemes, Gupta stated that there was an absolute need to solve the public grievances in time-bound manner. He exhorted the officials to cultivate the habit of accepting the petitions from the people with a smile. "This trait would develop close rapport between the public and the government servants," he mentioned.
The Collector informed the officials that distribution of essentials under the Public Distribution System (PDS) to beneficiaries will begin from September 1 onwards. He stated that Amma Vodi scheme would be launched on January 26, 2020.
Bharath directed the officials to inspect functioning of the private schools with regard to infrastructure and other basic amenities for effective implementation of the Amma Vodi scheme.
The Collector asked officials to take up a special drive for recruitment of volunteers in villages.
A committee for the recruitment of volunteers would be constituted with Joint Collector, Joint Collector-2 and District Panchayat Officer as its members. For every 50 houses, a volunteer would be appointed to ensure welfare schemes are reached real beneficiaries. Joint Collector D Markandeyulu, Joint Collector-2 Kamala Kumari, District Revenue Officer Gangadhar Goud and other officials were present.
