After Onions, Red chillies and Coriander price surges due to incessant rains

The prices of essential commodities have been on rising for the last three months due to the incessant rains causing floods. Earlier it was onion, which prices have touched the 100 mark per kg. And now, another essential commodity Mirchi's price has gone high. On the other hand, coriander prices are skyrocketed. With this, the middle-class families in the country are facing chaos.

Mirchi, which is in cold storage at the Khammam Agricultural Market, was quoted at Rs 18,100 per quintal on Wednesday. The price of Mirchi, which stood at Rs 11,000 in July, has now increased to Rs 18,000. Market analysts say prices will continue to rise in the coming season as heavy rains badly hit crops in Karnataka and Maharashtra.

In the case of Coriander, the price is at Rs 150 per kg. in Warangal. The crop is also vulnerable to rains, which also increased demand in the market. With the damage of crops, Vegetables are being imported from Bengaluru and Maharashtra.

Some vegetable traders in Warangal say that the traders have agreed to bring the Coriander to Hyderabad from other states and supply it to Warangal.
