AITS students exhibit satellite models in Rajampet

Rajampet: To mark the World Space Week 2019 celebrations, Sathish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC), SHAR, Sriharikota, organised an exhibition of satellite models that were launched into space at Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Sciences, (A) Rajampet.

This exhibition which commenced on Friday, was concluded on Sunday. As part of the exhibition, the students of AITS presented different models of satellites, their working nature, different components of satellites and their uses. They also exhibited Satellite Launch Vehicle, Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle and Geo Synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle posters.

The students emphasised that it is only through the help of satellites' communication development, study on climate changes, research on ground water resources, caution against natural disasters, telemedicine, tele education, remote sensing and progress in science and technology is possible.

As part of this event, elocution competition, drawing, quiz and essay writing competitions were conducted for students of Classes IX, X, Intermediate and Engineering graduate students and distributed the prizes and certificates for winners during the valedictory celebrations. During the valedictory, RDO P Dharma Chandra Reddy participated as chief guest and hailed the AITS management for organising such a mega event.

SHAR DGM A Balamurali, SPROB Deputy Manager M Brahmananda Reddy and Scientist team from ISRO Sriharikota expressed their gratitude to C Gangi Reddy, Founder, Annamacharya Educational Trust, Chairman Dr C Ramachandra Reddy, Vice Chairman C Yella Reddy, Executive Director C Abhishek Reddy, Programme Coordinators Prof M Subba Rao and Dr B Abdul Rahim for their efforts in organising the event in a grand manner.

Deans, heads of the various departments, faculty and students attended the programme. AITS Principal Dr SMV Narayana thanked the ISRO team for organising the event at college.
