All-party meet for closure of shops by 1 pm in Eluru

Representatives of political parties at all-party meeting on Covid-19 in Eluru

Eluru: The all-party meet organised by CPM here resolved to convene a joint meeting of business and political representatives to take a final decision on closure of shops and business establishments in Eluru by 1 pm every day in the wake of increasing cases of Covid-19.

The meeting held on Thursday was attended by representatives of CPM, CPI, Jana Sena, Congress, CPI ML New Democracy and others. They appealed to the government to totally close down liquor shops, keep sanitizers available at public places, spray disinfectant regularly and allot special place for funeral of patients died with Covid-19. The meet also requested the authorities to supply essentials to the poor in red zone areas free of cost. It made an appeal to the people to use mask, gloves and sanitizers to avoid spread of the virus. The trading community should also keep ready with them sanitizers and help the customers use it when they enter their shops.

The leaders of the parties who attended the meet on Thursday submitted a memorandum requesting for closure of shops by 1 pm to District Collector and the Municipal Commissioner here on Friday. They also requested the officials on the resolutions passed at the Thursday's all-party meet.
