Amaravati: High Court to hear only urgent cases for two weeks in Nelapadu
Nelapadu (Amaravati): Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court Jitendra Kumar Maheswari on Monday addressing the advocates and Bar Association members announced that only urgent cases would be heard for the next two weeks. The decision is in line with some other High Courts including Delhi High Court, Bombay High Court and others who decided to hear only urgent cases.
The Chief Justice also advised the advocates not to attend the court if they do not have cases to present.
All the stay orders would be extended by two weeks subject to moving before the court concerned.
Any urgent matters in pending cases would be taken up subject to information to the other side and urgency.
Henceforth, the advocates must undergo medical gun check at the entry of the High Court. Advocates or others who suffer from fever, cough and cold need not attend and their cases would be adjourned or accommodated.
He requested the president of the Bar Association and the chairman of the Bar Council to arrange masks and sanitisers at the association office.
