Visakhapatnam: New industrial policy draws appreciation

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh government, after a marathon exercise, is all set to launch its new industrial policy, most probably today itself. The chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been reviewing and giving suggestion for final modification today at the camp office in Tadepalli. Minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy and others participated in the meeting. The ministers including Mekapati Gautam Reddy and others scheduled a press conference today in Vijayawada on the industries development.

The government has reportedly decided to bring policy for only 3 years, as a short term policy instead of the previously planned long term five years policy. Minister Mekapati Gautam Reddy on Wednesday said that the government will give the incentives pragmatically, but not to create unnecessary hype. He stated that the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has strictly instructed him to give the incentives as much as possible to honour the promise. The new industrial policy would also encourage the new companies to venture in different sectors and the government already studied the possible opportunities for investment.

Chief Minister is going to have a final review on the proposed industrial policy on Thursday. After the completion of the review, the Industrial Department may release the policy at any time, according to sources.
